ONLINE MEDIA BRIEFING – Thu 17 March 2011 at 1.30pm AEDT online

The situation in Japan continues to change so we’ve arranged for the three experts who spoke on Tuesday to once again join us for an online briefing this afternoon. They can answer your questions on the latest available information about the nuclear plants and the potential health impact. These speakers have been overwhelmed with requests so this is an excellent opportunity to hear from and ask questions of these leading experts.

SPEAKERS:

  • Dr John Price is a former member of the Safety Policy Unit of the National Nuclear Corporation UK, formerly a Professor at Monash University and now a private consultant.
  • Mr Peter Burns is the former CEO of ARPANSA (Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency)
  • Assoc Prof Gerald Laurence is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide and a Radiation Safety Consultant to the University of Adelaide and Flinders University. He is a radiation safety expert and can answer questions from journalists regarding the health effects of radiation.
